Summary: Industrial fall protection is an ever expanding category of occupational health and safety. Unlike other forms of hazardous energy such as electrical or mechanical, gravitational potential energy is universal and affects every organization. To combat the dangers associated with working at height, fall protection equipment manufacturers have developed a plethora of devices to safely arrest a worker in the event of a fall. Although there are many different types of fall protection devices, some of the most common are energy absorbing lanyards.
