Many professions recognize the need for certification to identify competency in their respective fields. Approximately 300 certification programs and titles are available in the U.S. in SH&E and ergonomics.
The growth in titles creates many questions and sometimes confusion for potential candidates of these programs. What characteristics define quality? How does safety certification add value? What makes one safety certification more worthwhile than another?
