Injury Ratios - An Alternative Approach for Safety Professionals
Summary: The accuracy of some well-known injury ratios used within the SH&E profession has been called into question in recent years. Since the use of ratios can be convincing, however, many wonder whether it is possible to produce replacement ratios. The author shares his study of BLS data and concludes that practitioners who want to use these ratios would be best served by producing their own using internally compiled incident data.
