Summary: Safety culture and safety climate have been popular topics among both safety practitioners and industrial organizational (I-O) psychologists for more than 20 years. The underlying factors of safety culture and safety climate are not fully understood and are currently being studied in several current research articles. Moreover, the impact of external forces, such as the economy, has not been studied. This study draws from previous safety culture, safety climate and social exchange theories.

What is the BOK?

The Body of Knowledge project is dedicated to creating a living reference that represents the collective knowledge of the Safety, Health and Environmental profession. While the preliminary work has begun, there is still more to do. The purpose of this website is to introduce subject areas that will eventually be part of the Body of Knowledge, and to gather feedback on the future direction, and ongoing assessment of what needs to be completed.
